John 1:43-51

In yesterdays reading we read about Andrew finding his brother Simon Peter so that Peter could see Jesus. Today we read about Philip being found by Jesus and was asked to become a disciple of Jesus. Also Philip went off to look for Nathanael and he told him, We have found the very person Moses and the prophets wrote about! His name is Jesus the son of Joseph from Nazareth." Nathanael asked if anything good come from Nazareth. Philip replied, "Come and see for yourself." As the men approached Jesus He replied, "Here comes an honest man a true son of Israel. Nathanael asked Jesus how He knew about him. Jesus told him that he could see him under the tree before Philip found him. Nathanael remarked, "You are the Son of God-the King of Israel!" Jesus asked Nathanael "Do you believe all this just because I told you I had seen you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this." Then he said, "The truth is you will all see heaven open and the angels of God going up and down upon the Son of Man."
