Putting A Smile On The Face Of God

The other day I spoke of one way of putting a smile on God's face and that is by reading His Word and sharing it. Today I learned of another way of pleasing God.

The answer is found in Romans 8:1-11. I need to type all the verses for you to see the whole picture.

"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.

For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Chirst is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you."

So the way to put a smile on the face of God is by living in the Spirit. Thinking of the things of the Spirit such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires and keep in step with the Spirit.

How About You?
Are you walking in the flesh or in the Spirit?

An Answer To Prayer

Even though I was not able to hear the whole program this morning on my local Christian Radio Station I was able to hear enough to know that the prayer I prayed last night was answered today.

My prayer was how I could make the Lord happy. One way to make the Lord happy is not to keep things to myself, but I am to share with others. Sharing Bible verses is one way to make the Lord happy.

So one of the verses that I want to share is found in I John 3:18 "My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth."

God is all about love. If we love God we will love others even though they may be unlovable. We are not just to say we love them, but we are to show them we love them. Love is an action word.

So one way I learned to make Jesus happy is to love others no matter what.

How About You?
Does this verse encourage you to love others and make Jesus happy?

The Strange Side Of Me/ Update on my grandson Nate

I enjoy doing different kind of things which is not so strange, but the things I choose to do is sometime very strange.

For example this morning at breakfast time I had a piece of toast on my plate and as I looked at it I could see a design in the toast. So I decided to take a picture of it. Who knows one day it may appear in some type of art work.

The Lord has given me a great desire to be different and not so conventional. I believe that is what makes me unique and one of a kind.

Update On Grandson
Nate doesn't have a broken hand. He spranged it.

The Good And Bad

Yesterday, Saturday October 10, 2015, my daughter and I were able to go together to my church and do some crafts. We both made wreaths. It was a great day together. Then she came to our house and spent some time with myself and her Dad which we all enjoyed a great deal. That is the good news.

After she left she stopped at the gas station to get gas before she went home.  After getting the gas she called home to let her family know she was on the way. Her son Nate answered the phone and told his Mom that he had fallen off his bike.

When she got home she saw that both hands were pretty scraped up. He had his helmet on so it protected his head. This morning Nate was complaining that his one hand hurt a lot. So Tim, his Dad, took him to the doctors.

The doctor looked at it and since it was swollen she sent Nate over to the ER to get x-rays. The doctor thinks Nate may have broken it. So at the time I am writing this they have not received and answer back from the ER yet. Nate is the one that broke a front tooth a few weeks back in a gym accident.

I remember those days very well when our children were younger and how many trips to the ER and doctors we had made.

The Lord was with him as he could have had a head injury also.

Great Week

Some of my weeks are filled with exciting events and then some aren't. This past week was one of the exciting weeks.

Two events that stand out for me are: A Girls Night Out put on by a women's group at one of our local churches in my area. The main event was a concert given by Damaris Carbaugh who is a singer and speaker. Damaris gave us a great concert. She would sing a song and then talk and then sing again. I could tell it was coming from her heart. Afterwards we were able to buy dvds, cds and other materials. She sang songs from her newest cd so I bought that one.

The other event was that my daughter told me that on Saturday her and her husband were able to walk their oldest son, Elijah, down the isle so that he could be recognized at school for his accomplishments.

He was asked what he was going to do after his senior year and he said that he wanted to go to medical school. He is thinking of a school right now in New York State.

He is a honor student, has taken and is taking college courses this year and last, he was the mascot for the football team. He also plays in the band and has help put on plays by doing background work. He is a fine Christian young man and very proud of him.

I am so glad that my daughter has stayed in the faith and has tried to raise her three children in knowing the truth and having the Bible as their guideline. All three have accepted the Lord and she married a believer.

Happy Grandma! Update

A few days ago I reported that my grandson received and injury at school. It involved him chipping one of his front teeth.

The dentist had to reshape his tooth and so eating is still a problem that my grandson has. I believe once he gets use to the feeling he will do fine. So far the Lord has been answering prayers and he has no problem with the root connected to the tooth.

My family and I are very grateful for anyone who were praying for my grandson. We appreciate your prayers.

A Hurting Grandma

As with our own children we hurt when they hurt. In my case it was not one of my children that got hurt but my grandchild.

Today my grandson was in a school accident. He was in his gym class and they have a treadmill.  Another student changed the dial on the treadmill and my grandson didn't know it until he went on. He started it up and turns out he was set to run around 90 miles an hour and of course my grandson lost his balance and fell on his face and chipped on of his front teeth.

They tried many dentists before they could find one that was opened on a Friday afternoon. They found on outside of their city and got the tooth fixed as best as they could.  He is hurting a lot this evening.

The Lord was watching over him as there could have been more damage and more severe injuries. We are praying they got him to the dentist in time and that there will be no root damage. If there is he will have to have a root canal. He is only twelve years old.
