Rejoice-Word For The Day

Rejoice

Meaning

  • Be glad
  • Be rejoice exceedingly
  • To Be Well
  • Thrive

Philippians 4:4
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

How To Apply This To Our Lives

This past week has been a rough week for me. It has been hard to put this verse into practice, but I have.
It has not been easy at times as I want to think about it and worry about it but that still small voice says, "Stop!" So I do and go on thinking about other things and rejoicing in the Lord.

I am so glad for this verse. I can rejoice and keeping on rejoicing!

How about you? Are you rejoicing in the Lord?

Enemy-Word For The Day

Enemy-Meaning
Hostile

Matthew 5:43,44
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

How To Put Information Into Action
For example lets say your workplace deals with the public. It is a service that is provided for the customer. You wait on the customer and they become very rude and yelling at you as you are trying to help them. But they continue to be angry at you. You are kind to them, even though on the inside you really want to yell at them, and you do your best to be pleasant.

Two days later you are called into the bosses' office and said that the customer called and complained about you and now he wants you fired. The boss is supporting you only because she needs you to work as she is down six people. She says that she has no reason to fire you but it still may happen.

You leave the office and truly inside you are at peace. You know that God is going to take of things and it will work out for his glory.

The Lord doesn't want us to hate our enemy or those who do wrong toward us. We are to love them, bless them, and pray for them.

Do you have an enemy right now? Love them, bless them, and pray for them.

Holy Spirit-Word For The Day

Holy Spirit

  1. The third person of the triune God.
  2. Holy Spirit coequal, coeternal with the Father and the Son.
  3. He teaches, reproves, convicts, intercede, calls, and bears witness, seals a person, draws people to God and salvation, fills, empowers, anoints, imparts spiritual life.

Romans 8:16-18
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ: if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

How To Apply This To Our Lives
We are to have respect for the Holy Spirit as we should have toward the Father and Son. The Holy Spirit is a person. We can grief Him, lie to Him, resist Him, insult Him, and blaspheming. He has feelings so we need to be careful that we don't do the list of things above.

We are to listen to Him. His Spirit and our spirit should bind together so that we go in the right direction--that is toward God and not away from Him.

Persecuted-Word For The Day

Persecuted

Galatians 1:23
For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it.

Meaning
  • To make to run or flee
  • Put to flight
  • Drive away
  • To run swiftly in order to catch a person or thing
  • To run after
  • To press on: figuratively of one who in a race runs swiftly to reach the goal
  • To pursue (in a hostile manner)
  • In any way whatever to harass, trouble, molest one
  • To be mistreated, suffer persecution on account of something
  • Without the idea of hostility, to run after, follow after: someone
  • To pursue
  • To seek after eagerly, earnestly endeavor to acquire
How To Put Information Into Action

We in the United States are just now starting to be persecuted, but nothing like those who live in Russia and other countries. But our time is coming and so we must know that we are going to be sought after. We must be strong in our faith.

In the verse we have for today Paul was one of those who persecuted the Jewish people for believing in Christ. He set out to kill them when the Lord approached him and changed his life.

The Lord, Himself, was persecuted on the cross and before He went to the cross. So if He was we will be too. But we need not worry as the Holy Spirit will be with all believers and tell them what to say and do. God is in control.

Follow-The Word Of The Day

Follow

Matthew 16:24
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Meaning
  • To follow one who precedes.
  • Join him as his attendant.
  • Accompany him.
  • To join one as a disciple.
  • Become or be his disciple.
  • Side with his party.

How To Put Information Into Action
To follow someone is to join them and be part of their party. In this case Jesus is saying to those who are his disciples that if they are going to follow Him they must deny or put to death themselves, take up their cross, and then they could be one of his disciples.

We too, if we want to be Jesus' disciple must put to death our own dreams, desires, thoughts and put our whole hearts into following Jesus and what He has for us. Taking up our cross means to bear what are burdens are. Jesus' cross was dying for our sins, ours might be living with someone who is abusive, health issues etc.

A disciple also is a learner. So while we are following Jesus we learn along the way and that will help us to become more like Him.

So follow Him today with your whole heart.

Justification-Word For The Day

Justification-Word For The Day

Romans 5:18
Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Meaning

  • That which has been deemed right so as to have force of law.
  • What has been established, and ordained by law, an ordinance.
  • A judicial decision, sentence of God. Either the favorable judgment by which the acquits man and declares them acceptable to Him.
  • Unfavorable: sentence of condemnation. A righteous act or deed.

How To Put Information Into Action
Because Adam's one sin brought condemnation upon everyone, Christ's one act of dying on the cross, buried, and rose again, makes all people right in God's sight and gives them life. Because one person disobeyed God all people became sinners. When a person accept's Christ for who He is and believes that He died for them and accepts Him as Lord and Savior they are made right in God's sight. We don't have to be separated from God any longer.

Not everyone will do this. That is why it is so important for all who are believers give out the gospel message to everyone as the Holy Spirit leads. Many more need to hear, the harvest is ready but the workers are few.

Question
Have you been justified yet? Are you right with God?

Allow-Word For The Day

Allow
I Thessalonians 2:4
But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts

Allow
To test, examine, prove, scrutinize (to see whether a thing is genuine or not) as metals

To recognize as genuine after examination, to approve, deem worthy.

How To Put Information Into Action
God tests us to see if we are ready and worthy to be trusted in sharing the gospel with others. He wants to make sure that we are not trying to please men rather than Him.

Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to guide you in how to talk to people about the gospel. He will guide you in the right way every time.

Sins (Word for the Day)

You may be wondering why I would add the word sins to the post. Most everyone has an idea what sin is. But I felt that it was good to see what the Greek word meant not just the English idea. Actually it is pretty much the same.

Sins

Meaning-Strong's Concordance

  • To be without a share in.
  • To miss the mark.
  • To err, be mistaken
  • To miss or wander from the path of uprightness and honour.
  • To do or go wrong.
  • To wander from the law of God, violate God's law.
  • That which is done wrong, an offence, a violation of the divine law in thought or in act.
  • Collectively, the complex or aggregate of sins committed either by a single person or by many.

Galatians 1:3-5
Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

How To Put Information Into Action

Jesus gave himself for our wrong doing, for our missing the mark, and to be without a share in the kingdom of God. So when it comes to making a choice in what action we are going to take in what is before us are we going to sin  or are we going down the path of rightness and honour?

Grace

Grace

Galatians 1:3
Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,

Grace
*Grace is that which affords joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness: grace of speech, good will, loving-kindness, favor.

Of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon our souls turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues.

*Strong's Concordance

How To Put Information Into Action

Each day give thanks for all the benefits, services, favors, and rewards we receive from God our Father.

This also was a way of Paul greeting the people he was writing to. I wonder if it would work the same way it did in Paul's time. Try it on a friend. Next time you see your friend say, "Grace be to you my friend and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ." See how they respond.

Selah

Benefits
Every day the Lord loads us up with good things.

How To Put Information Into Action
