An AHA Moment

In my Sunday School class we have been talking about AHA moments. Something that happens that you were not planning on.

I had a AHA moment today. I was working on my Bible crossword puzzle and I had a question that did not have a Bible verse to look up so I had to use my mind to find the answer. I was using my The Inspirational Study Bible by Max Lucado. He has a lot of notes on the sidelines and as I was looking for my answer I came across the following: "Application: Isaiah 1 page 806, 'To repent means being both remorseful for your sin and also acting so that you do not repeat the sin again. What sin are you enjoying? Repent of it. Then put the past behind and live a new day.'"

Now this verse was an answer to prayer. I was trying to understand the true meaning of repent. In another group we were talking on this subject. This was my answer.

Repent-being really sorry for my sin. Agreeing with God it is sin. It is not only important to agree with God then I have to act upon it. I have to stop doing the sin. Simple! (right) It would be simple if I am living a pure life and a spiritual life as I should, but I'm not doing that at all times. But this AHA moment was real and got me to thinking that I can repent and not do my sin again because I have the Holy Spirit in me and He is going to say, "No!" So I want to listen to that still small voice and repent than act upon it.

How about you?

I Need Your Prayers

Just a short note asking for prayer.

I don't usually do this, but I haven't been feeling well since December 29th and it is not getting better. When I called  my medical group on Saturday the doctor on call thought I might have pneumonia. I tried getting an x-ray on Saturday at the walk-in but their machine was broken.

I am very tire, the kind where it is hard to keep my eyes open and could fall asleep anywhere. And am getting the deep cough back with the mucus, chest pain, and back pain.

I do see my regular doctor on Friday, but if not better try to get into the medical group to see another doctor before then.

Thanks ahead for your prayers and I will be back with you when I am not hurting to sit for very long.

Lost and Found

Luke 19:10
"For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."

Thought
As I was doing my Bible crossword puzzle today the first question to fill in was lost in the verse above. It got me to thinking. Who were the lost and how did they get lost?

Those who know the Bible you have the answer already. The lost at this time were the Jews. Because Jesus came to His people first to find them. They rejected Him so then others shared the Good news with Gentiles (those that are not Jewish) and they became found also.

But what were they lost from? The answer is we were all lost at one time from having fellowship with God. We were separated from Him because of sin. But when Jesus came He died, was buried, rose again, and He took away our sins so that we are not longer separated from God.

I am so grateful that I believed the Gospel message and I have God as my Father and I can talk to Him all the time.

How about you? Are you lost or have you been found?

How Many Of Us Wear A Mask

Today I was listening to a Christian radio program on my tablet as I was working on something around the house. The message was on the heart. And how the heart and mind are not different but the same. The old saying, which was not mentioned in the program, but I thought of just now is, 'What you think is what you will do.'

The verse used was Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God."

According to Strong's Concordance one of the meanings of heart is the soul or mind, as it is the fountain and seat of the thoughts, passions, desires, appetites, affections, purposes, endeavors. So really the mind and heart go together.

Another thought, which happens in church all the time, is that people put masks on. Not physical masks but we say something different than what we are actually thinking. "How are you today," and you might say, "Oh I fine." But really you are hurting but you don't want to tell anyone.

So the question today is do you put a mask on when you are with others? We don't need to do this especially if we want to have a pure heart before God. Be who we are and not try to be somebody you are not. If you are the type of person who needs to talk about something and a person ask you how you are doing- tell them. If it is something good share it!

No masks for 2015.

Back To Work

Today has been the first day back to work in three weeks. It was good to get back but sure am tired. Not to tired to go shopping after work though. I got a gift card from my husband for A.C. Moore and so we stopped on our way home. I should never go shopping with my husband. He sees things I don't so ended up spending more than what the gift card was for. But it is for my crafting projects that I do.

What I want to do is try to get enough crafts done so that I can get into one of our big craft fairs next November. I make paperweights using floor titles and then adding things to them. Then I have dollies to go with them if people want to use on furniture instead of paper. I also do Zentangles with is a great way to relax and have something nice when I am done. Then I want to give some of the money earned to a Deaf Ministry that I like. I am not deaf, but have to use sign language for signing at church as I have problems with my vocal cords due to no thyroid.

One of my Zentangles.

One of my paperweights. I really needed to crop so the paperweight would show up better.

Salt

Matthew 5:13
You are the salt of the earth.

Thought
Now that most areas are going through the winter season, salt is used to put down on the roads, driveways, walks to help people be able to drive and walk better. A little traction underneath their tires and feet.

The Lord wants us to be the salt of the world. To help people see Jesus and accept Him into their life so that they have good traction to walk on and keep the person safe.

Salt is good for a lot of things but it has to be fresh otherwise it is useless. So in order that we are fresh and ready to tell other the Gospel news is to read our Bible and know how to explain the wonderful news of Christ. Then we will be following Jesus by being the salt of the world.

A Song

Today I put in the cd The Heart Of God Damaris and I listen to the song I Sing Peace I stopped and really listen to the words. They spoke to me. Below are the words to the song. Damaris Carbaugh is the singer.

I Sing Peace
Words and music by Bill Cantos

Peace, I sing peace;
I sing peace in the name of the Lord.
Peace, I sing peace,
I sing peace in the name of the Lord.
There is peace in abundance at the foot of the cross
Where I understand His mercy and how much it cost.
There is peace overflowing in the shelter of His arms
Where He holds me forever safe from harm.

Joy, I sing joy,
I sing joy in the name of the Lord.
Joy, I sing joy,
I sing joy in the name of the Lord.
There is joy in abundance at the foot of the cross
Where I understand His mercy and how much it cost.
There is joy overflowing in the shelter of His arms
Where He hold me forever safe from harm.

Love, I sing love,
I sing love in the name of the Lord.
Love, I sing love;
I sing love in the name of the Lord.
I sing joy in the name of the Lord.
I sing peace in the name of the Lord.
