Thanking The Lord

Thanking The Lord Yesterday was one of those days that we could not thank the Lord enough for taking care of us. For me it was a time when I said the Lord still has something for us to do. It happened like this: My husband and I were on the way home from work. We were on a busy highway and we came upon the lane where merging traffic took place. I am usually the lookout person to make sure the lane is alright to go into. My husband however saw the two eighteen-wheelers coming down the lane. Just as we pulled over into the merging lane so did one of the tractor trailers. I screamed and my husband realized what had happened. He couldn't get into another lane as there were cars behind us so we went side by side With the tractor trailer. The truck kept going and going finally it had passed us. We were safe. It was only the protecting of the Lord that we were not hit by the truck. I had keep thinking about it last night as I was going into sleep mode. I just lay there thanking the Lord for his goodness. We had to go the same way today but the traffic was not as bad.

John 6:41-59

The Murmuring of the Jews John 6:41-59 The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. And they said, "Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven? Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, "Murmur not among yourselves. No man can come to me, except the Father which bath sent me draw him; and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, and they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then Jesus said unto them, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat this flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, sand drinketh my blood, dwellleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father; so he tat eateth m, even he shall live by me. This is the bread which came down from heaven; not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead; he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever." These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. (Thought) Jesus flesh and blood relates to Jesus death on the cross.

John 6:25-40

Jesus, The Bread of Life John 6:25-40 (Read from your own Bible) Summary The crowd looked for Jesus at the place where he feed them, but He was not, there so they went over to Capernaum and when they found Him they asked how he got there. Jesus was not happy with the crowd and He told them that they wanted to be with him not because of the miraculous sign that he did but because they were concerned with the perishable food they received. He told them to spend their energy seeking the eternal life that He, the Son of Man, can give them. For God the Father had sent Him for that very purpose. The crowd asked Jesus what must they do and Jesus replied, "Believe in the one he has sent." You have to show us a miraculous sign if you want us to believe in you. What will you do for us? After all, our ancestors ate manna while they journeyed through the wilderness! As the Scriptures say, 'Moses gave them bread from heaven to eat.'" Jesus told them that it wasn't Moses who gave them the bread from heaven it was His Father that did. He was offering them the true bread from heaven. The true bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. The crowd wanted this bread that Jesus was talking about. That is when Jesus told them, "I am the bread of life. No one who comes to me will ever be hungry again. Those who believe in me will never thirst. But you haven't believed in me even though you have seen me. However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them. For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do what I want, And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them to eternal life at the last day. For it is my Father's will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life that I should raise them at the last day." (Thought) Can you believe these people? Jesus had taken two fish and five loaves of bread, blessed it, and gave to the whole crowd and gathered up twelve baskets of left-over food and they are asking for a sign that Jesus was the one sent to them! Like Jesus said, the people saw signs done but didn't believe in Him. Are we any different today? Do we see signs of Jesus doing something great in our lives and don't believe Him? I guess we can't be to hard on these people. These verses just help us to see how marvelous Jesus is and to look for all the things He does for us and thank Him.

John 6:16-21

Jesus Walks on Water John 6:16-21 After the feeding of the 5,000 the disciples went down to the shore to wait for Jesus. It turned into darkness and Jesus still hadn't come back, they got into the boat and headed out across the lake toward Capernaum. Soon a gale swept down upon them as they towed, and the sea grew very rough. They were three or four miles out when suddenly they saw Jesus walking on the water toward the boat. They were terrifies, but he called out to them, "I am here! Don't be afraid." Then they were eager to let him in, and immediately the boat arrived at their destination! (Thought) Imagine seeing Jesus walking on the water! Jesus knew his disciples were going to be afraid but when He spoke they were eager to let Him in. What was so amazing is that once Jesus was in the boat they arrived to where they were headed for. How amazing the Lord is!

John 6:1-15

Five Loaves and Two Fishes After hearing witness of Jesus he went over to the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias. And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased. And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples. And the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh. When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come into him, he said unto Philip, "Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?" And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. Philip answered him, Two hundred penny worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little. One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to him, "There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes, but what are they among so many?" And Jesus took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down, and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, "Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost." Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. " Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, "This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world." When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. (Thought) Jesus went to the mountain with His disciples. Then at the end of the miracle Jesus again went to another mountain to be alone. I imagine that it took a lot out of Jesus to feed all the people. Actually, the disciples did a lot of the work. Jesus blessed the food and gave it to his disciples to give to the crowd. In other Gospels it said that there were 5,000 people. Can you imagine! Just think about it for a moment that 5,000 people came out to find Jesus just because they had seen other miracles that Jesus had done. I thought it was interesting that it was Andrew who went through the crowd to find some food. He was good in finding things, Remember he went to find his brother Simon Peter so that Peter could meet Jesus. How many baskets were filled? Twelve! Amazing!

John 5:31-47

Bearing Witness of Jesus John 5:31-47 (NLT) "If I were to testify on my own behalf, my testimony would not be valid. But someone else is also testifying about me, and I can assure you that everything he says about me us true, In fact, you sent messengers to listen to John the Baptist, and he preached the truth. But the best testimony about me is not from a man, though I have reminded you about John's testimony so you might be saved. John shine brightly for a while, and you benefited and rejoiced. But I have a greater witness than John-my teachings and my miracles. They have been assigned to me by the Father, and they testify that the Father has sent me. And the Father himself has also testified about me. You have never heard his voice or seen him face to face, and you do not have his message in your hearts, because you do not believe me-the one he sent to you. You search the Scriptures because you believe they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! Yet you refuse to come to me so that I can give you this eternal life. Your approval or disapproval means nothing to me. because I know you don't have God's love within you. For I have come to you representing my Father, and you refuse to welcome me, even though you readily accept others who represent only themselves, No wonder you can't believe! For you gladly honor each other, but you don't care about the honor that comes from God alone. Yet it is not I who will accuse you of this before the Father. Moses will accuse you! Yes, Moses, on whom you set your hopes. But if you had believed Moses, you would have believed me because he wrote about me. And since you don't believe what he wrote, how will you believe what I say?" (Thought) Some Scripture explains itself. This is one of them.

John 5:19-30

All Judgment Given to Jesus John 5:19-30(NLT) So the Jewish leaders began harassing Jesus for breaking the Sabbath rules. But Jesus replied, "My Father never stops working, so why should I?" So the Jewish leaders tried all the more to kill him. In addition to disobeying the Sabbath rules, he had spoken of God as his Father, thereby making himself equal with God. Jesus replied, "I assure you, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and tells him everything he is doing, and the Son will do far greater things than healing this man. You will be astonished at what he does. He will even raise from the dead anyone he wants to, just as the Father does. And the Father leaves all judgment to his Son, so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. But if you refuse to honor the Son, then you are certainly not honoring the Father who sent him. I assure you, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life. And I assure you that the time is coming, in fact it is here, when the dead will hear my voice-the voice of the Son of God. And those who listen will live. The Father has life in himself, and he has granted his Son to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to judge all mankind because he is the Son of Man. Don't be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God's Son, and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to judgment. But I do nothing without consulting the Father. I judge as I am told. And my judgment is absolutely just, because it is according to the will of God who sent me, it is not merely my own."
