Playing Games

I love to play games especially when I have someone to play with. And I just discovered some new games on Face Book. Not a good thing. I was just getting myself away from playing games so much on Internet but now I am hooked again.

But as long as I have gotten everything else done I want to and it doesn't interfere with anything else I guess it is OK to play. I need some fun in my life. All work and no play is not good.

I Try To Write Something Everyday

Some days are easier to write things than others. I missed yesterday. Sometimes I'm not feeling well so getting on computer is not easy. But I try my best to do so. I even had something to write about yesterday. So I will share it with you today.

Friday morning I got up and got around and was ready for work early. I had bought some nail polish, which I don't usually wear, but just felt like would like some. I got the nail hardener but I chose white. Wow! When I put it on it was really white. A lot bolder than my normal clear color I use if I do put it on.

I was in a hurry so the first finger was messy and thick in some places and not covered in other places. I thought, "Well that is OK. I just wash it off and wait till I have more time." Wrong! It wouldn't even begin to come off with soap and water. I didn't get any nail polish remover because thought I had some. Wrong again!

So I thought since I started I might as well finish and maybe it wouldn't look to bad. I had it all over my fingernails, fingers, ever where. What a mess. Now it is time to go to work and I have to do story time this morning and will have Moms, Dads, Grandmas and ten small children and I just pictured them looking at my hands. Ugh!

As it turned out we had enough time to stop at our corner store and pick up some nail polish remover and when I got to work I had time to get the nail polish off.

That was a close call-but God was good and showed me a lesson. First, don't get white nail polish again. Two, make sure if I do get nail polish learn how to put it on. And last, make sure I have nail polish remover near by and use in a well ventilated room.

Seeing Young People As They Are

Today my husband and I ate lunch out at a time in which the high school kids were on their lunch break. It was very interesting to me to watch, listen and hear the conversations that were going on.

In my school days there was a dress code. There were dress codes but not the same. Short, short skirts. More of a grown-up looks to the girls. The boys were boys. Guy stuff. Not much different. Some were very slick looking and some had the easy-going look. What struck me was one conversation where a boy was talking about what he and his father were talking about the evening before. It was the language that the father used.

It is so sad to see what goes on in this generation. I am not saying that they kids were bad. But this generation has so many more problems and things to deal with then when I was growing up. It is hard for them but they don't know anything different.

I really feel sorry for my young grandchildren. What is the world going to be like when they get older?

The Goat, Deer, And Donkey Adventure

I was looking for a word to use for my daily devotions that I have on face book and other sites: Read The Bible  and The Servants Board and I came across the word adventure. So when I came to this one I thought it would be nice to share the verses with you. I am using the New Living Translation Bible. Here are the verses.

Job 39:5-1-8
The Goat and Deer
"Do you know when the mountain goats give birth? Have you watched as the wild deer are born? Do you know how many months they carry their young? Are you aware of the time of their delivery? They crouch down to give birth to their young and deliver their offspring. Their young grow up in the open fields, then leave their parents and never return."

"Who makes the wild donkey wild? I have placed it in the wilderness; its home is the wasteland. It hates the noise of the city, and it has no driver to shout at it. The mountains are its pastureland, where it searches for every blade of grass."

The point I see in these verses is how the Lord, even with the animals, guides them. And sometimes it seems they have more sense than people do. And it is so beautiful how the Lord describes the birth of the goat and the deer. And also about the wild donkey and how they hate the noise of the city. It is almost peaceful to think about being out in the wilderness.

There are also other animals mentioned in this chapter too if you would like to read about them too. The whole chapter is very interesting.

Writer's Group

The Lord works in mysterious ways. I am in a writer's group which meets on the first Monday of the month. Last night was our night for February. What we do is if we want to is bring something for people to critique and then we can revise it when we get home.

Last night one of the writers gave me her piece to read. I looked at it and it was on prayer. I said to her I was just thinking about this subject this morning and I need to revise how I do my praying. So her article was just what I needed to help me get some ideas on this subject.

I thought it was neat that the Lord worked it out that way. Also the other stories and my own gave me more excitement about writing.

It was a great night!

It Is Well With My Soul

I have been using the computer most of the afternoon and I have a radio station that is on the computer that I have on when I just want different kind of Christian music. They play all kinds. Chorus, contemporary, and hymns. One of my favorite sons is It Is Well With My Soul and twice they have played it and it is so comforting.

I am so glad that there are many people who are gifted in music. It gives so much joy and comfort. And today it gave me something to write about.

Do You Have A Dream?

Since I have been a little child I have either wanted to be a teacher or a storyteller. I have had the opportunity to do both.  I am so blessed. I was not a school teacher but I did teach Sunday School for over twenty-five years.  And as far as being a storyteller, I like to write stories especially for children. And as I am writing them I am reading them out loud to see if it would make a good story telling story.  I have just joined a writer's group and they have been a big help. Also I read to children as part of my job and that is great fun. When I read to my 2 year old children I love to watch the parents or grandparents listen as I read the story. They seem to enjoy it more than the children do.

So I am blessed to writer and share with you my stories of my everyday life and things that go on in a small down found in Upstate New York.

I hope that you have a dream and at sometime be able to do it.
